Google on Thursday Reveal a website Aims to teach people how to detect and avoid online scams, as digital scams take a step forward in the context pandemic.
Webpage, Scamspotter.org, try to show people how to identify things like bogus stimulation tests, provide fake vaccines or other misleading medical information. The website also highlights certain typical models of hoaxes, such as a romantic crook asking a target to transfer money to them or buy them a gift card.
Google launches a collaboration tool with the Cyber Crime Support Network, a non-profit organization focused on helping victims of online scams. The site includes a quiz that runs through popular scam situations, like getting a notification of winning a trip to Hawaii, even if the recipient doesn't participate in a contest.
The effort came when scammers exploited the pandemic at "alarming speed," Google said.
